The Bhagavad Gita is a revered Dharmic scripture, part of the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. It delves into the fundamental truths of Krishna (God), the individual soul, the material world, action in this world, and time. With lucidity, it expounds upon the nature of consciousness, the self, and the universe, encapsulating India's spiritual wisdom.

The Gita is attributed to the ancient Indian saint Vedavyasa and is narrated during the battle of Kurukshetra by Lord Krishna himself to Arjuna, a Pandava prince. In this conversation between the two, a wide range of philosophical issues is discussed, offering guidance and counsel to a despondent Arjuna faced with an impending fratricidal war.

The Bhagavad Gita upholds the essence and philosophical tradition of the Upanishads but also integrates dualism and theism. The setting of the Gita in a battlefield serves as an allegory for the moral and ethical struggles encountered in human life.

The call for selfless action in the Bhagavad Gita has inspired leaders such as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in India's independence movement. Gandhi frequently referred to the Gita as his "spiritual dictionary."

This app provides the only available Gujarati translation of the Bhagavad Gita, ensuring that the storyline is faithfully retained. Although not an exact replication of the tune and meters of poetry found in the original Sanskrit version, it maintains consistency and readability in Gujarati.
